Knights of Columbus
All men of the parish are encouraged to become active in the Knights of Columbus. For information, contact the Parish Office.
Altar & Rosary Society
Altar and Rosary membership is open to all women of the parish. Also referred to as A&R, they are responsible for care and maintenance of the Sacristy and all the items used for Mass and Adoration, such as communion wine & hosts, candles, linens, books, albs, cassocks for the altar boys and other items upon request of the priest. Each fall they sponsor the Apple Cider Craft & Quilt Show to support their ministry.
Each year a group of women make a hand-made quilt to help the A&R Society fund its ministry. Chances to win this quilt are sold and the winner is drawn at our annual Apple Cider Craft Show held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving each year.
Parish Pastoral Council
This organization is composed of 13 parishioners and the Parish priest. Parish representation includes: (5) General Membership, (2) New Member/Young Family, (1) Young Single-adults, (1) Knight of Columbus, (1) Altar & Rosary Society, (1) Legion of Mary, (1) Office, and (1) Finance. The council’s goal is to discern the needs of the parish, and create a vision for the future and advise the pastor as needed.
This committee fosters vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life. Programs such as the traveling Vocation Crucifix, letters to students, and support of seminarians and postulants are all part of the committee’s work to foster and support vocations. The vocation committee participates in the Southeast Kansas City Serra Club which meets monthly at Coronation. Contact Deacon Mike Dennis for more information at: 761-6478.
